Sara Hess (23), B.A. Graphic Design: Public Work, Scott Street

“The Point Loma Association requested a nautical theme for this utility box on Nimitz and Rosecrans. Recently, I’ve been enjoying playing with vibrant color in my work, especially chromatic aberration. My favorite part of public art is connecting with people and feeling like I’m becoming more a part of the community I get to paint in. I love saying hi to people passing by and getting to know the neighbors. Thank you to Sandy Henshaw, utility box projects coordinator at the Point Loma Association, and all of my supporters for making this project happen!”
