In this issue of the Viewpoint, we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Health Promotion Center, which builds connection, service, and experience between PLNU students and faculty and the community of Mid-City San Diego. You will also meet a young man named Baraka, who moved from life as a refugee to life as a PLNU student. We also introduce you to another Cabinet member, our provost Dr. Jim Daichendt. Like so many PLNU people, his love for Point Loma is anchored in his love for the university’s community. And you will be able to find stories on each of our three 2026 Distinguished Achievement awardees.
