In this issue of the Viewpoint we remember the momentous time in our history 50 years ago when Pasadena College moved to San Diego to eventually become the Point Loma Nazarene University we know today. Although the distance was a mere 140 miles, the move away from a location that was rooted in traditions, memories, people, and the experiences of generations made the distance feel infinitely further.
We also take a look at an incredible moment of a choir made up of his current and former PLNU students performing at the world’s most prestigious music venue, Carnegie Hall. We remember athletics greats who went home to the Lord, celebrate record-breaking Sea Lion achievements, and meet Dr. Jamie Hess, PLNU’s first female dean of the Fermanian School of Business.
